General Questions

Remedial massage is the umbrella term used for both deep tissue and sports massage.

Remedial massage is a form of massage that works to remedy or fix a problem in your body. The main point of difference with deep tissue massage is the pressure and the speed. Generally the techniques used are the same as remedial massage but are of a stronger, deeper and slower focus.
Sports Massage incorporates a specialised focus on sports injury prevention and treatment.
Generally it is used for sports people or people who exercise regularly. Pre and post game massage will be a little less firm, using faster and longer strokes.
When treating an injury the massage techniques will be the same as Remedial massage.

No, please cancel your appointment. When you have a remedial massage treatment, it often amplifies the symptoms of the illness your body is fighting, as it stimulates the lymphatic system. It is not uncommon for people to feel light-headed and bilious after a treatment, which is not what you want if you are already feeling sick. It’s also tricky to treat someone who has a runny nose or cough, and there is the hygienic element of spreading bacteria. Please rest up and rebook if you are experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms.
Our remedial massage therapists are all fully qualified and have several years’ industry experience under their belts. For a full description of each therapist’s skills and areas of expertise, head to the Meet our Therapist section. If you’re still unsure, please give us a call to discuss your needs.
Our cancellation period is 24 hours. Please call us to reschedule your appointment within this time as it gives us time to try to find a replacement to fill the spot. Often we will have others on a waitlist. We understand that emergencies come up from time to time and we are fully compassionate to those times.
